About me

Having coached for over nine years, I have learnt many different coaching styles through observing at all levels of the game. I continuously develop as a coach by reading books, game analysis and my dedication to research in sports and psychology.

Through my experience I have found the player-centred coaching style and a ‘street football’ playing philosophy has a huge influence on my teachings and methodology.

I try to be the best coach possible as one of the five most common reasons for dropping out of sport for young people are related to the coach; therefore my purpose is to create an environment that is enjoyable

Philosophies

Players develop understanding and learn more effectively when they are involved in solving problems for themselves.

Players are more productive if they enjoy what they do.

Provide individual instruction more so than to everybody as it penetrates better than group instructions.

Encourage players to manage their thinking by making decisions promptly.

Encourage players to set goals and believe in themselves.

About me

I decided to begin my coaching journey over 8 years ago and have loved every process. I have increased my learning by attending FA and UEFA accredited courses and establishing links with affiliated coaches and viewing their sessions. My heightened learning comes from reading various sports coaching biographies and sports psychology books.

I am a great believer of guided discovery which allows players to trial, experiment and learn through their own mistakes with occasional ‘controlled’ assistance. Creating a ‘deep learning practice zone’ is vitally important to me. An environment with constant repetitive practices with high tempo allows new techniques, skills and decisions to become subconscious.

Philosophies

Making sure we all respect one another. We listen, we share ideas and install the same values and disciplines associated with being in the public eye.

Create fun and stimulating practices.

Encourage players to make mistakes during practices or games as this will help them develop solutions when faced in similar situations.

Praise those who attempt to be creative without fear of failure.

Praise those who are persistent in executing new skills and techniques.

About me

I started my coaching journey 5 years ago. I began as a goalkeeping coach at Crystal Palace ladies which lead to an opportunity to coach with Tooting and Mitcham United football club. I have been coaching children between the ages from 4-13 years of age which has provided me a great experience in working and adapting to the various age groups. I have a great passion for football and I always look to self-reflect after each session as I believe that if a coach doesn’t set standards for themselves then players won’t look to improve.

Philosophies

I believe that players learn best when they are given opportunities to practice in a fun and safe environment.

It is important that every player has respect, not only to the coaches but also to their team-mates and the facility as we all have a part to play in creating a fun learning environment.

It is important that players are given opportunities to learn from trial and error. Players need to experience what works and what doesn’t work. This can be a great coaching tool as it allows players to identify faults which will allow them to coach themselves and make better decision when the same scenario occurs.

About me

I enjoy both the practical and the theoretical aspects of the subject having studied Sports Science at higher education, it has taught me about detailed athlete development and maintenance where I implement this within my coaching.

As a player for many years, I have played in various conditions and ‘street football’ is what influences my teaching style. My playing experience has given me the opportunity to develop my understanding of many positions, giving me the fundamentals to enhance my one to one training.

Organisation and critical thinking are factors I use when planning my sessions ensuring, as I believe this allows the sessions to be enjoyable but beneficial in their problem solving. Fitness is half the battle, and being fit helps you to maintain a high playing performance.

Philosophies

Players should be respectful on and off the pitch/ court. Teams and players are more successful when they play for one another. As a coach I allow space for creativity and personal growth, I also recognize the importance of encouraging a competitive spirit. My studies at University has shown me that learning about your body as well as believing within yourself is important for reaching true potential.

About me

My interest in coaching and managing Football players over an 18 year period was developed alongside my professional playing career. A dedicated soccer enthusiast I am always willing to “lend an ear” listen to players needs and requirements and support, advice and where appropriate mentor them to develop their football attributes as well as valuable life skills.

I take time and higher thinking into preparing my sessions plans and understand all ages of players thought processes to ensure that all sessions are most importantly fun and enjoyable, that the practice develops them structurally and is progressively linked to their preferred learning style and demonstrate positive communication, always encouraging through practical demonstrations and their keenness to show me and others what they can do.

Philosophies

Coaching methodology is valuable to the players accelerated development but it has to be compliment with an approachable, caring and mutually trusting environment. Where players and children can have fun and express themselves, be creative and make and learn from their mistakes to discover education and responsibility for learning.

Methods and coaching styles should always be adaptable to suit the players needs and requirements and unearth the talent that lies within to positively impact the five strands of football player development. That is when I become aware that what I have achieved for them has lead me to a place of contentment and self-satisfaction.

About me

I am a qualified Physical Education teacher working full-time. During evenings and weekends, I spend my time coaching Futsal and Football.

The passion for Futsal started when I was 13. My best friend invited me to join a football training where we play indoor. Would be very good, he said. And he was right!! Since then, Futsal started to be one of my favourite sports.

In Portugal, I played some seasons in a team competing in youth leagues. When turned 18, I played three seasons competing in the second and third division in the Portuguese Futsal.

Futsal is a growing sport in England and I would like to use all my knowledge in Futsal to be part of this growing.

Philosophies

As a coach, creating a sense of excitement about sport is something that I am really passionate about. I like the opportunity to make learning for others as enjoyable and fulfilling as my own has been. I am confident in my ability to help the players to development of skills and techniques and building positive team work and sportsmanship.
